Recipe Details:Although schnitzel is traditionally known as a meat dish, it can also be made from cabbage. This is a very nutritious and light diabetic-friendly dish, which is perfect for lunch or dinner!
- Cabbage leaves – 8
- Egg – 1
- Whole grain flour – 3 tbsp.
- Breadcrumbs – 3 tbsp.
- Olive oil – 2 tsp.
Recipe Directions:Step 1
Boil cabbage leaves in salty water for about 6 minutes.
Drain the water and let the cabbage leaves to cool.
Lightly beat off the thick part of the cabbage leaves with a kitchen hammer.
Beat the eggs in a small bowl. Roll the cabbage leaves into envelopes and dip into flour. After that, dip the cabbage leaves in the eggs and then roll the cabbage in bread crumbs.
Preheat a frying pan with some olive oil on it. Put the schnitzels on the frying pan and fry for about 5-6 minutes, turning them constantly. Remove the ready schnitzels from the frying pan, serve them with yogurt or sour cream and enjoy!
