What burning off insulin means?
I’m 72 y.o. and I have type 1. For the last 2 years, when my sugar runs low, I’ve been usually eating something sweet, waiting for about an hour, maybe a bit more, and then coming back to normal activity. But before that, I could return to activity in half an hour or even sooner. My doctor says it takes longer with age to burn the insulin off. Can anyone explain to me what that means? I thought it was because my digestion slowed down. Thank you.
