Noodles & Company serves carbohydrate-rich cuisine in a fast-casual setting, using noodles as the main ingredient. However, if you're monitoring your carbohydrate intake, don't rule out Noodles & Company because there are still some dishes you can enjoy as a person with diabetes. You'll find delightful recipes created with zucchini and cauliflower noodles alongside classic comfort foods, many of which cost less than $10. Noodles & Company offers a variety of methods to tailor your meal to your specific dietary needs.

Noodles & Company, which first launched in 1995, specializes in noodle meals, salads, and soups. There are 425 Noodles & Company locations in the U.S. Their noodle dishes are inspired by cuisines all around the world (Italian, Thai, Mediterranean, Japanese, and American), and they make your noodle dishes to order. Entrees from Noodles & Company are available in both standard and small versions. A variety of kid's meals and desserts are available. You can also serve a side soup or salad, as well as snacks, to eat alone or with friends. Spaghetti, rice noodles, and macaroni are not diabetes-friendly foods, as you may know. Cooked spaghetti includes 43 grams of carbs in one cup. Zucchini noodles from Noodles & Company feature only 4 grams of carbohydrates per one-cup serving. Simply substituting zucchini noodles for regular noodles reduces the carb count dramatically, making your Noodles dish instantly low in carbs.

Here's what you can enjoy at Noodles & Company if you're watching your carbs and sugar intake to monitor your diabetes.

Zoodles and Caulifloodles

Noodles & Company's zoodles and caulifloodles are excellent low-carb options. Spiralized vegetable noodles are used in place of regular spaghetti in these dishes, giving you an extra serving of vegetables on your plate. Cauliflower rigatoni fresca with shrimp has 880 calories, 39 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 102 grams of carbohydrate, 35 grams of protein, and 1,940 milligrams of sodium. Shrimp has a high protein content and a low saturated fat content. This healthful dish contains 8 grams of fiber per serving, thanks to the cauliflower as a basis.

Salads

The salad menu at Noodle & Company is small, with only three options, yet the restaurant excels at vegetable-forward and low-calorie salads. Keep an eye on the sodium content of these dishes, as it may be higher than that of pasta-based foods. The Med salad with chicken from Noodle & Company has 430 calories, 17 grams of fat, 6 grams of saturated fat, 32 grams of carbohydrate, 37 grams of protein, and 1,710 milligrams of sodium. This dish is a winner thanks to the vitamins in the Tuscan greens and kale and the protein in the chicken.

Soups

There are only two soup options on the Noodle & Company menu: chicken noodle soup and tomato basil bisque. When you're faced with a restricted number of selections, go with the one that appeals to your taste buds the most. The chicken noodle soup from the chain has 360 calories, 10 grams of fat, 2.5 grams of saturated fat, 41 grams of carbohydrate, 30 grams of protein, and 2,320 milligrams of salt. This rich soup contains a lot of protein, making it a full option for only 400 calories.

The tomato basil bisque has 430 calories, 28 grams of total fat, 14 grams of saturated fat, 37 grams of carbohydrate, 8 grams of protein, and 1,450 milligrams of sodium. While this soup has less sodium than chicken noodle, it contains 31 grams of sugar, compared to only 9 grams in the chicken noodle.

Shareables

The appetizers at Noodles & Company are known as "shareables," and these bite-sized delicacies are best shared with the table. The potstickers shared has 380 calories, 10 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 54 grams of carbohydrate, 16 grams of protein, and 1,820 milligrams of sodium. Each serving contains three or six potstickers with a calorie count of just over 60. The Korean BBQ meatballs meal has 870 calories, 28 grams of saturated fat, 32 grams of carbohydrate, 33 grams of protein, and 2,680 milligrams of salt.

Caesar's Side Salad

The Caesar side salad has 210 calories, 20 grams of total fat, 3.5 grams of saturated fat, 5 grams of carbohydrate, 3 grams of protein, and 400 milligrams of salt. The abundant vitamins and antioxidants in romaine lettuce make this a terrific addition to any meal.

Bottom Line

Restaurants like Noodles & Company have customizable menus that allow you to add nutritional components to any dish. In a dish at Noodles & Company, substituting zucchini noodles for ordinary noodles reduces carbs substantially. Ordering a small portion will further reduce carbs, bringing most menu items under 15 grams net carbs. Using Noodle's online Nutrition Calculator, you can experiment with your meal by adding and deleting items to determine which combination best suits your needs.
